Mother's Day Without Therese
Today we celebrate Mother’s Day for the first time without Therese, our family’s foundation, and our guiding light. Brian, Andrew, and I will have a nice Mother’s Day barbecue, and each of us will share a story about Therese that will make us laugh and probably make us cry.
As I write this, I noticed last year’s Father’s Day card that she gave me, “wishing me a great golf game and much success and happiness during the year.” Of course, none of us knew at the time that this would be one of the last cards that she would write, but it is certainly a card that I will cherish.
I also am thinking about my mother, Donna, who gave me, my brothers, and my children all the love and support that anyone could ever hope to receive. She, like Therese, was an extraordinary person that we were so fortunate to have in our lives.
For those people that are lucky to have mothers in their lives, please give them a big hug today, tell them how much you love them, and remember the impact that your mother has had in your life!
